Dr Susan (Sue) Ford is an experienced, well rounded and compassionate family physician known to the upper highway area.
She qualified at the University of Cape Town in 1998 before working at McCords and Kosi Bay Hospitals, gaining experience in all departments. Her time there gave her a taste for the broad reach of general practice – when she was on call she was anything from an anaesthetist, an obstetrician, a physician, right through to a paediatrician. Sue had to be multi skilled!
Dr Sue then studied a further 3 years post graduate General Practice degree at Cambridge University UK where she lived and worked for a number of years as a family GP.
She returned to South Africa in 2009 and after working briefly at McCords moved to private practice in 2010, working in a busy Hillcrest practice before joining Dr Beth Mcleod at FEMINA HEALTH in February 2015.
Dr Sue has interests in woman’s health as well as family medicine. She believes not only in treating the specific illness but in helping the entire person in a holistic manner. She also believes in healthcare that seeks to assist people in preventing illness & live lives that are full, healthy & well.
Her spare time finds her spending time with family & friends, enjoying a good book, hiking and jogging. As a Christian, her faith is an important part of her life & work & she is actively involved in a local church. Other joys include travel, a good
glass of wine and a beautiful sunset. She loves being a doctor and loves to see people moving towards health & wholeness.
Sue has a much-loved Labrador called Roxy who, for a time, was the practice puppy and many patients and reps still ask of her fondly.
