Beth Cairns is an American Physiotherapist who received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from
Washington University Medical School in 1994. She also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic
Training at Illinois State University. Since graduating, Beth has worked in both hospital and out-patient
private physiotherapy practices in the USA and South Africa.
Beth has extensive experience treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries as well
as post-operative rehabilitation. In addition to treating the general public, Beth has worked with many
professional athletes in the NBA (National Basketball Association), WNBA (Women’s National Basketball
Association), NHL (National Hockey League), MLB (Major League Baseball) and NFL (National Football
League).
Beth is still an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the National
Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) in the US as well as a licensed member of the Health Professions
Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
As an avid runner and cyclist, Beth has participated in numerous events both here in SA and in the USA.
She also enjoys playing volleyball, hiking and reading. Her biggest achievements include a 6-day, 500
mile Minneapolis to Chicago AIDS charity ride and summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro.
